This is the story of my little savannah kitten named Spring. There were 3 kittens in this litter. 2 boys and 1 girl. Needless to say both boys loved attention from the beginning. As soon as they learned to walk, they walked right to me for some special lovin's.
Then comes Spring. Although I didn't know she was Spring when I first met her. I refered to her as the little wicked one. This kitten was just down right nasty! She bit me and scratched me every time we trimmed nails. She spit at me and hissed at me every day 2 times a day while I fed them. I thought "oh my, what am I going to do with this kitten, she can be out of control.
While the vet loved on the boys and played with them, they kind of just gave her the shot and handed her back to me. I am not sure why, I was the one who had to reach into the crate to get her out which could be quite the job itself. I thought, oh my, what am I going to do with this kitten, she can be out of control.
I would pick her up and hold her next to my face and she immediately slapped me. This happened maybe 7,000 times, but one day I think it was 7,009 she leaned over and smelled my chin. I thought oh great, progress, but she, keeping to her pattern slapped me! Finally on event 7,641 Spring allowed me to pick her up, give her some kisses and pet her. Finally I had mastered the kitten. I was so excited I called everyone over to see. One by one They tried to pet her and she slapped them. This went on for about a week. I just kept showing her to anyone that would come she her.
Spring has now become the most awesome kitten in the world to me. She plays fetch with me. She collects her toys from all over the house and puts them in her special box. She talks and talks all the time. She was given her name because she sits with you quietly and all of a sudden she springs out of your lap. I get the nail trimmers all ready to cut her nail and she springs out of your hands. She knows your paying attention to the clippers and not her so she takes the opening to jump!
It just goes to show the wicked kitties can be the greatest ever with some quality one on one time and lots of extra loving.
